What FreightRatesMCP is

A rate terminal for ocean spot freight out of China and Asia. For every lane we track you see the lowest current 40ft HC spot price, the 20ft and 40ft HC price of each upcoming sailing, the carriers sailing it, port-to-port transit, the next departures, and, where we have observed arrivals, each carrier's on-time record. Checking rates is free and needs no login. When you want a firm all-in price, you request a quote and a vetted forwarder answers.

2,382 port-to-port lanes from Chinese and Asian origins to Europe, North America, Latin America, Africa, Oceania and within Asia, grouped by trade. Every lane has its own page under /rates.

Where the rates come from and how often they change

Rates are live carrier spot prices from public listings, refreshed daily and shown per sailing: carrier, vessel, voyage, departure date, transit and the price per container size. The headline price of a lane is the lowest 40ft HC spot price among its sailings that can still be booked. The FreightRatesMCP Index is the weekly median 40ft HC price per trade, indicative and not a quotation. On-time reliability per carrier and lane is measured from observed arrivals, never from the carrier's own promise.
